What Is Thanksgiving?

What Is Thanksgiving?

By Pastor Melinda Ivey

It’s when we give our gratitude to God
Our Creator and Provider,
Whose care and guidance go before us…
And whose steadfast love is always with us.

It is a time to reflect on the changes,
and remember that we, too,
grow and change in the seasons of life
from year to year.

It is a time of changing seasons, when leaves turn
yellow, orange, red and brown in Autumn’s beauty.
When apples are crisp in the first chili breezes of Fall
and when collards taste better after a visit from Jack Frost.

As we remember the true meaning of Thanksgiving,
Allow us to see the beauty of Autumn, let us acknowledge
The many blessings which come our way…
Let us think of our families and friends…

And let us give Thanks in our hearts to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ!
