Benefit Dinner And Silent Auction For Michael Frank Champine

Michael Champine was born February 18, 2011, weighing in at 9 lbs, 7 0z. At 10 months, he was still only 18 lbs.  He does not gain weight like a normal baby should or have BM’s like he should. Most of this is caused by GI issues but there isn’t much that can be done.  He is just considered failure to thrive and acute abdominal issues along with a severe allergy to milk. He has been hospitalized 3 times and on one of those occasions the parents were told he possibly wouldn’t make it.

A few months ago they inserted a feeding ‘tube. The formula for this is $50 a can. As of Jan 1st, 100% of medical bills and prescriptions have to be paid by the parents. He goes to the DR at least once a week. We are doing the dinner
and auction with all proceeds going to the family for bills, prescriptions, gas, etc.

Ash Wednesday – One Solitary Life

He was born in an obscure village.

He worked in a carpenter ship until he was about thirty.

He then became an itinerant preacher.

He never held an office.

He never had a family or owned a house.

He didn’t go to college.

He had no credentials but Himself.

After preaching three years, the public turned against Him.

His friends ran away.

He was turned over to His enemies and went through a mockery of a trial.

He was nailed to a cross between two thieves.

While He was dying, His executioners gambled for His clothing, the only property He had on Earth.

He was laid in a borrowed grave.

Nineteen centuries have come and gone, and today He is the central figure of the human race.

All the armies that ever marched, all the navies that ever sailed,

All the parliaments that ever sat, and all the kings that ever reigned,

Have not affected the life of man on the Earth as much as that

ONE SOLITARY LIFE.

Methodist Home For Children

We learn as young children that Jesus loves us and God’s promise of salvation is ours. But Peter the Apostle reminds us in Acts 2:39 that this promise belongs also to those who live “far off” from God. At Methodist Home for Children, we take God’s promise into some unimaginably far-off places. We take it to children who’ve been through revolving short-term foster placements, who were born addicted to drugs and who’ve suffered the worst types of physical and psychological abuse. We take it to teenagers who are lost to themselves because of substance abuse, mental illness and destructive behaviors. Please support this important United Methodist ministry with your gifts on MHC Sunday.  |  Visit  the Methodist Home For Children web page.

We will take donations on Feb. 19th and Feb. 26th.  Please consider giving to this this wonderful ministry!
